Marina O’Connell is a Director of the Apricot Centre CIC, a carbon negative regenerative farm and wellbeing service in Devon. She is an experienced permaculture designer, trainer and author of Designing Regenerative Food Systems and Why We Need Them Now. Her approach weaves together permaculture design, agroforestry, biodynamic farming and other regenerative techniques.

Marina, with Jules Pretty (Professor of Environment and Society, University of Essex), will give an overview and analysis of the ‘perfect storm’ of challenges facing food production. She argues that we need more farms that can mitigate and adapt to climate change, offset biodiversity loss, and produce lots of local healthy food, while still being a viable business. Marina will share first hand experience of the regenerative farming systems that can meet these challenges.
