Herefordshire Food Charter. Healthy food for people, place and planet

picking ledbury oct 2023We had a great first outing for the Herefordshire Gleaning Network this Sunday, picking 60kg of Bramley apples which might have otherwise gone to waste. We will be stewing and pressing these apples at our community cooking day this Sunday  8th October at Ledbury Community Hub at Pot and Page 11-3 so come along! If you have any surplus apples then bring them down to be made into juice for the Ledbury Food bank and stewed apples to put their new freezer!

Our next glean is this Friday 6th October at Herefordshire Wildlife Trust reserve, Lower House Farm 11-3 where we will be picking for Hereford Food bank and also the community larder at the Living Room.  More info in the main picking post

We also helped the Archenfield Environmental Group with their juicing day last weekend, it was a busy one for the Alliance!  Kids Kitchen said "It was a really lovely community day with lots of delightful people to chat to, lots of apple energy balls made and enjoyed and we even got some apple juice to take home!"

If you would like to join the network to hear of future gleaning opportunities then get in touch at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
