Herefordshire Food Charter. Healthy food for people, place and planet

It was a great experience for Herefordshire Food Alliance to feel so linked with partnerships across the UK at the Sustainable Food places conference this week.

How to integrate school meals, increasing uptake of the brilliantly useful healthy start vouchers, the economic value of allotments, youth kitchens... there are so many great ideas to learn from and links to make - it's dizzying. We'll bring the best back here to Herefordshire and work with all our partners - to find what works here.

  • There are now more than 80 partnerships who are members of the network and we are one of them!
  • There is now a Good Food Nation Bill in Scotland and half of all councils are a food partnership
  • Food partnerships are valued in the emerging England Food Strategy
  • Wales has a draft Food Bill and a commitment to provide affordable healthy socially sustainable food in Wales with funding!

Next step for Herefordshire - a Bronze award, please share all your good food achievements - and what you think is needed next - with us. Thanks!
