We're excited to be part of an Apple Day event this autumn with a difference!
Along with Herefordshire Wildife Trust, cider and juice makers, and many others we'll be celebrating the role our county's most famous fruit has in keeping our countryside healthy.
A Celebration of Nature-Friendly Food and Traditional Orchards
20th October 2024
Queenswood Country Park from 11am
HWT say: To celebrate National Apple day, we are bringing together local cider, perry and juice producers to shine a light on the critical role of sustainable agricultural practice in safeguarding our precious ecosystems. You're invited to immerse yourself in a vibrant gathering, showcasing an exceptional variety of regional fare, informative talks and apple related activities.
An orchard is not merely a collection of trees—it is a vibrant tapestry woven by the passage of seasons. Traditional orchards serve as havens for a myriad of bird species, offering natural pest control through the harmony between birds and insects. We must understand the importance of these precious habitats and how they are an integral part of Herefordshire’s wider ecosystem.
